Come to this workshop and discover the six most important concerns and needs of employers. Identify and overcome any barriers that could sidetrack your job search or short-circuit your career.
Online Applications: Unlocking the Mystery
Many businesses now ask job seekers to submit online applications. Since every application is different and every website is unique, the process can be frustrating and time consuming. This workshop will give you the how-to skills to make completing on-line job applications faster and easier.
Resume Basics
When job searching, a resume is your personal advertisement. Learn what employers want to see on your resume. Understand why your resume is the key to obtaining an interview. This workshop focuses on general resume information and how to customize your resume to fit the expectations of the employer. Note: You will receive copies of sample resumes.
Using Keywords to Optimize Your Resume
Resume writing is constantly evolving. Applicant tracking systems (ATS) and technology require a new approach to resume writing. In this hands-on resume workshop you will learn how to identify keywords in a job posting and to modify your resume to fit each job as well as ATS systems.

Resume Critique
Is your resume helping you get job interviews? Come to our Resume Critique sessions and discover how to maximize the effectiveness of your resume. Critiques are conducted by experienced Workforce Consultants on a first-come-first-served basis. Resume Critique is offered Wednesdays (2:00 PM to 4:00 PM) and Thursdays (9:00 AM to 11:00 AM) in the Alliance Worknet Career Resource Center located at 629 12th St. in Modesto

Confidence in an interview can be the final key to getting hired. This workshop explores detailed information about successful interview strategies to help you better understand what the employer is looking for, and how to make the best impression possible during your next interview.
WorkKeys Assessment
WorkKeys is a nationally recognized assessment developed by American College Testing to measure the “real world†skills critical to job success. Many Employers throughout the central valley are using these assessment results to make hiring decisions. Jobseekers can use their WorkKeys scores to qualify for these jobs, to promote to better jobs, to focus their career exploration and training decisions.
KeyTrain Registration
If you want to raise your WorkKeys levels KeyTrain can help. KeyTrain is not a test. It is a user-friendly, online curriculum that targets WorkKeys subjects. Just a few hours of study in the KeyTrain lessons has proven effective in raising WorkKeys Assessment levels. At KeyTrain you will see a demonstration of the software and receive your login and study materials.
